Temporary Approved Non-Compliance (TANC) risk procedure implementation and training

Objective:

  • To implement Temporary Approved Non-Compliance (TANC) standards;
  • To establish the necessary management supporting structure;
  • To manage the regularisation of discovered non-compliances with standards;
  • To train accountable managers and authorised persons in the procedures and basic risk analysis techniques of the TANC standard.

Added value to client:

RM Consultants (RMC) is highly skilled at risk assessment, developing training courses and embedding guidance, regulations and standards into company policies. RMC has developed and delivered a number of technical and business process courses for high hazard industries that are tailored to meet client’s requirements.

Activity:

RMC was contracted to assist in the implementation of the new standard for approval of temporary non-compliance and then to roll this standard out to infrastructure companies’ employees.

This was accomplished by:

  • RMC taking a leading role in all aspects of implementing the TANC standard, establishing the infrastructure companies’ necessary management support structure, and aiding in the mitigation of business impacts;
  • Implementing management procedures for logging and tracking incidents of non-compliance and their inclusion in safety cases as required by LUL standard;
  • Developing and delivering a tailor made training package that produced minimum disruption to company operations. The training package is innovative and places emphasis on practical application of risk assessment techniques. Attendance at the training course supports staff appointments as TANC authorised persons.

RMC ensured client compliance with the TANC standard from beginning to end by implementing the procedure in company policies and ensuring staff were aware of new responsibilities and codes of practice.
